As the second
largest county bar association in New Jersey with more than 2,400 members,
the Camden County Bar Association has fostered a tradition of service
and professionalism since it was chartered in April 1881 by Benjamin Shreve
and 11 other attorneys. Under the guidance of our first president, Abraham
Browning, the CCBA was established to promote a better understanding of
the law and the justice system as well as cultivate relationships among
its members.
For more than 121 years, we have been the legal resource for attorneys
who practice in Camden County offering a dynamic and wide range of benefits
geared toward meeting the challenges of a competitive profession. Bar
Association participation offers opportunities to attend any number of
professional or social activities, to network with peers and take advantage
of timely discussions on specific areas of the law. More than 50 committees
provide members with the opportunity to help foster the honor and integrity
of the legal profession through generous pro bono work. Other benefits
